How to Play the MP3 Files

First thing you need is a copy of this excellent player program. Goto www.winamp.com for details of how to download it.

Now we're getting technical. (Nah, it's a piece of piss). The first stage is to record a .wav file onto your PC. 

To make .wavs from CDs, you need something like Audiograbber. Get it from http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net. Pop a CD into your CD Rom drive, click on the song you want and audiograbber does the rest.

To make .wavs from tape or record, you need to plug a lead from the headphone socket of your record/tape player into the mic input of your soundcard (have a look at the sockets, then get a lead from Tandy or somewhere). Then, get a prog like Goldwave from http://www.Goldwave.com. Press record in Goldwave, and play on your equipment, and Bob's your uncle - or at least a close relative. If you're a clever fucker you can even clean up hiss etc in Goldwave, then save the file as a .wav. 

To turn the .wav into an MP3, you need a prog like MP3 compressor. This loads your .wav, and turns it into an MP3. Hey fuckin' presto.
